Thanksgiving Adopt a Family Program

Every holiday season, Alliance For Children collects completed Thanksgiving Baskets for families who have received services through our agency.  Alliance for Children provides a safe, child friendly environment where child abuse victims and their families find hope, healing, and justice.  Everyday, we see successes that the families are able to attain due to the generosity of our community. Last year, almost 2000 children in Tarrant County received help through our agency. 

You can create a Thankful Thanksgiving in the lives of these families by supporting our Thanksgiving Assistance Program! There are several different ways to be a part of providing a Thanksgiving meal to the families we serve.

First, pre-filled Thanksgiving baskets are needed.  We serve 300 families each holiday season.  You can provide baskets (large wicker, straw or laundry baskets) for one family or several families. The following is a list of items to complete one Thanksgiving basket:

      2 cans of cranberry sauce           2 pkgs. 12 oz. stuffing      
      2 cans of yams                          2 cans of fruit      
      2 cans of corn                           2 cans of chicken broth      
      2 cans of pie filling                    2 boxes of pie crust mix      
      2 (12 ct.) pkg. of tea                 1 disposable large roasting pan      
      2 cans of green beans             

Second, gift certificates from local grocery stores are needed for turkeys. Due to lack of storage space and the necessity for ease in preparation, we are unable to accept frozen or fresh turkeys.

Third, monetary donations and store gift certificates are needed to assist in purchasing the food, baskets, and turkeys for the families.
