Alliance for Children - Childhood Shouldn't Hurt

P.S. It's My Body

P.S. It's My Body! is an innovative, practical personal safety series designed to teach and reinforce the three R's of personal safety:  Recognize, Resist, and Report.  The curriculum is sectioned in grade specific units which include:

  • learning objectives,
  • developmentally appropriate activities,
  • discussion questions and
  • program coordination tips & handouts.

Parent activities are also included in all five units!  Parent's engagement in personal safety efforts are encouraged through newsletters and parent - child activities.

P.S. Happy Bear (pre-K - Kindergarten)
An interactive play performed by facilitator and costumed volunteer that delights and informs young learners.

P.S. Puzzles (1st-2nd grades)

Children begin putting together the pieces of their personal safety lessons!  Activities include role plays to practice assertiveness, "what if" scenario discussions, and self-esteem building activities.

P.S. Gotta Move (3rd-4th grades)
Children exercise their bodies and their minds as they heighten awareness skills!  Activities include obstacle courses and practicing power and control.

P.S. Boundaries (5th-6th grades)
Students learn to take responsibility for their words, actions and personal boundaries!  Included are definitions and examples of sexual harassment, activities about setting boundaries, and what to do to help yourself or a friend.

The PSIMB Program is presented as a single lesson with curriculum available for schools or other organizations to lead follow-up lessons.  Contact your local Alliance For Children center today for more details or to schedule a presentation.
