If anything happened to your child or your child witnessed something, the environment provided by the Alliance For Children and the interviewer will be a safe place for your child to tell what happened in his or her own words.
It is important that caregivers do not question children, as a specially trained forensic interviewer will conduct the interview. The interviewer is trained to understand children’s language and assess children’s development and is trained to ask questions in a non-leading way.
Interviews are only conducted for DFPS, law enforcement agencies, and occasionally the District Attorney’s Office. These agencies will follow up on any investigative needs after the interview and will discuss this with the caregivers after the interview takes place. If a forensic interview is necessary, a referral will be made by the involved investigating agencies. |
