With the help and support of the 14 partnering communities, Alliance for Children continues to successfully serve the abused children of Tarrant County.  In 2010, AFC provided first time services to 2,501 children.

Outstanding achievements include participation with a number of other community agencies in bringing the practice of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to Tarrant County.  At the request of agency team members, we have begun conducting extended forensic evaluations.  AFC also participated in three university reasearch projects.

Alliance for Children Director, Nancy Hagan

We cannot change that a child is abused, but we can make a difference in what happens next. It is the "what happens next" that Alliance For Children addresses every day. Children often come to Alliance For Children with secrets they are afraid to tell. Perhaps their perpetrator has threatened them or other caregivers refuse to believe them. Whatever their situation, these children deserve understanding, compassion and justice.

Alliance For Children, a nonprofit organization, operates three child friendly centers in Tarrant County, located in Arlington, Fort Worth, and Hurst. Within each of the centers, detectives and Child Protective Services investigators work together to protect the child victim. As a team they piece together what has happened and take steps to ensure that the child is not victimized again.

Alliance For Children has been serving abused children in Tarrant County since 1992. Over the years, more than 25,000 children have entered an Alliance For Children center looking for hope and healing.
